The Story Behind Our Community
The foundation of our establishment is rooted in a deep passion for movement and community building. Most people assume our founder, Lana Hadi, is an Italian native with a lifelong background in performance. In truth, Lana is Palestinian and grew up with very little formal training in this field. She graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a degree in Marketing, which eventually led her to work in Calgary, Dubai, and Palestine.
Lana returned to Montreal in 2011 to manage her family business. During this time, she started taking Salsa and Bachata courses and attending various local congresses. She absolutely fell in love with the community and the joy of social dancing. She wanted to explore other styles, but she quickly realized that the local facilities offering what she was looking for were very limited.
This realization sparked the idea for a completely new dance studio in Montreal. She envisioned a space that was clean, modern, and welcoming. She wanted to offer multiple different styles under one roof with flexible memberships tailored to students of all levels. Today, that vision is a reality, providing a supportive environment for anyone eager to learn.
A Wide Variety of Dynamic Dance Classes
We pride ourselves on offering a diverse schedule that caters to different tastes and fitness goals. Our dance classes are designed to be fun, energetic, and highly accessible. Most of our sessions are suited for all levels, meaning students can drop in at any time without feeling intimidated.
Hip Hop sessions introduce students to street styles performed to energetic music. These sessions focus on rhythm, coordination, and the cultural evolution of the movement. For those interested in Latin rhythms, our Salsa sessions offer a popular form of social interaction that originated in Cuba in the 1920s. You will learn the fundamental steps, partner connections, and the infectious timing that makes this style so globally loved.
Bachata is another incredibly popular option we provide. Originating from the Dominican Republic, this social style is now practiced all over the world. It features a distinct musicality and a close connection between partners, making it a highly rewarding skill to develop. If you want to combine fitness with Latin rhythms, our Zumba program is an excellent choice. Created by Colombian choreographer Alberto Perez in the 1990s, Zumba provides a full-body cardiovascular workout disguised as a vibrant party.
We also offer Dancehall, a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. These sessions are highly energetic and culturally rich. For a fusion experience, our Afro-Dancehall sessions mix Afrobeats with Dancehall movements in a structured choreography format. Afrobeat itself is a fun, high-energy option that uses Soulful House, Afro House, and Hip Hop music to deliver a killer workout while getting your body moving in exciting new ways.
If you are looking for something that emphasizes torso movements and core strength, Belly Dance is an expressive art form that works heavily on hip movements and abdominal control. Alternatively, our Heels sessions blend Hip Hop with the confidence of burlesque. It is a fantastic workout that empowers you to move with strength and grace. Finally, we offer Samba and Afro-Brazilian sessions. These lively, rhythmical routines feature hot, percussive Brazilian rhythms that are guaranteed to make you sweat and smile.

The Health and Wellness Benefits of Movement
Engaging in regular physical activity through rhythm and music provides incredible advantages for your overall well-being. When you learn why dancing is so good for your health, it becomes easy to see why our members keep coming back week after week.
Physically, engaging in these routines improves cardiovascular health, builds muscular endurance, and increases overall flexibility. The continuous movement required in styles like Zumba or Afrobeat burns a significant amount of calories while strengthening the core and lower body. The emphasis on posture and balance in Belly Dance and Heels helps correct spinal alignment and prevents everyday injuries.
Mentally, the benefits are just as profound. Memorizing choreography challenges the brain, improving cognitive function and memory retention. The social aspect of attending regular sessions combats feelings of isolation, creating a supportive network of friends who share similar interests. The release of endorphins during a high-energy routine acts as a natural stress reliever, helping you leave the worries of the day behind the moment the music starts.
